Monday at 10 AM I’ll hop on a Greyhound bus bound for Binghamton, NY. Since they”ll be completing a
suspended game Monday, I’ll catch four and a half B-Mets games at NYSEG Stadium. I’ll miss Bobby Parnell, who threw Sunday in Binghamton, so Friday, I’ll drive to New Britain to see Parnell throw against the Rock Cats.
My Jenry Mejia feature piece will hit the site in less than an hour. I’m very high on that young hurler.
I’m hoping to do a live chat from Binghamton this week, potentially Wednesday to talk prospects leading up to the trade deadline. Full details to follow.

Toby, I check this blog every morning along with Metsblog. I have a few questions.
First, I’d love to get a definitive report on Mike Carp’s defense at 1B. I distinctly remember an article about Carp putting in a lot of work before his season at St. Lucie 2 years ago to improve his defense, and that it had gone from bad to adequate. But now I keep hearing about how Carp is a butcher. Is this just talk from the echo chamber, or true? Also, if you see Murphy play 2d, I’d like to hear about that too.
Second, what kind of repetoires do Robert Carson, Maikel Cleto, and Familia have? I’ve been following them and am curious what they throw in terms of mph and pitches. I’m also curious what kind of projection they have. I feel like it’s been a while since the Mets have had a bunch of quality flamethrowers in their system.
Also, what happened to Angel Calero? And do you have any thoughts or projections on Zeke Carrera and Ruben Tejada?
Thanks!
Absentminded,
That’s a lot for one comment… I’m going to write up some answers for you and post it as a story rather than burying in the comments. I’m going to withhold the Carp answer until the end of this week when I get a good long look at him, but will post the others (young hurlers + St. Lucie kids) either later today or more likely, during the day Tuesday.
Hi Toby,
Where are the stories on Brant Rustich and lucas duda you mentioned a few weeks ago?
still in development… I’m generating much more content than I can write and post these days…
Thanks!
I am looking forward to all of your articles!!!
Keep up the good work!
Thanks! This blog is a great resource. I appreciate the effort you put into this. I’m glad to finally get an authoratative eyewitness report on some of these guys.
Also, BA showed some love for Holt (#5 on this weeks Prospect Hot Sheet), Niese, and Murphy (both of whom are “In the Team Photo”)
