By Toby Hyde on 03. Sep, 2008

Brooklyn (SSA – New York Penn League)

@ Aberdeen Ironbirds 5, Brooklyn Cyclones 1

The Ironbirds snapped the Cyclones nine game winning streak by beating Jenry Mejia. Mejia (3-2, 3.49) gave up four runs on four hits, two of which were solo homers, in season-high seven innings. He struck out seven and did not walk a batter for just the second time as a Cyclone.

The Brooklyn offense collected just four hits.

fortunately for the Cyclones Jamestown lost so Brooklyn remains in the WC lead by 1/2 a game. Jamestown has a double header towards the end of the week to make up the 1/2 game.

The Cyclones will be playing in Hudson Valley tonight. Take the drive to Fishkill to see them. …or, just watch them on SNY tomorrow night.
