Nick Evans has not played for the Indios de Mayaguez in the PWL since November 19th. In his first 32 AB in 10 games, he had hit .094/.237/.156 with 5 BB and 14 SO and 0 HR.
I would posit that there are the following possibilities:
1. He’s sitting on the bench (unlikely)
2. He’s injured (maybe)
3. He went home to CA for Thanksgiving (unlikely)
4. The team sent him home (likely)
I’d bet he’s been sent home, although I have no information on this. I will try to track down an official story.
Unlike in the minor leauges, Winter ball teams are trying to win games. They generally have very little patience for young foreign players’ struggles. Basically, it’s hit or go home.

Must be that he wasn’t producing. Who knows maybe the last place Evans wanted to be was playing winter ball. Hopefully it was just a slump and he is a little burnt out. He has potential to be a 280/25/85 kind of guy. Maybe Kevin McReynolds without the stolen bases.
Sure, a bad 32 AB in the PWL in November is hardly the end of his career. It’s such a small number, it just doesn’t mean much at all.
