According to SNY (and no one else apparently) Jon Niese has been optioned to Buffalo with Nelson Figueroa being called up.
Figueroa last pitched on the 10th, but the Mets won’t need a 5th starter until the 18th. So he could be in the pen or in the rotation.
Livan Herhandez did warm up to pitch in extra innings today, and is the starter on Friday the 15th, and Figueroa could make that start if needed.

Brandon Knight has a 2.25 ERA in his last four starts, averaging 7 IP… his record: 2-2

Nick Abel? appears to be making the start in place of Antonini. Can this be right?

Jenrry Mejia hadn’t pitched in 10 days, so nice to see him back on the mound and pitching well.

Chris Schwinden activated from the DL, he last pitched on April 16th.
Jake Goldberg goes back to XST. He did not appear in a game for the Gnats.

Mejia had a low K start for once, yet his GB/FB ratio remained incredible (12 ground outs, 4 fly outs) and is a sparkling 2.50.

Is there any plans to possibly move him up to AA any time soon? I think he’s probably more advanced than Holt at this point, despite Holt’s higher upside.
