Game one was ugly. The Jays chased LHP Eric Niesen after he’d recorded just two outs in the first inning, but not before giving up five runs. Nick Waechter came in and built on Niesen’s success, yielding seven runs over the next four outs.
Carlos Guzman (.289/.341/.478) who was was 2-3, had the only noteworthy, in a good way, game, although he was 0-4 in game two.
Jeffrey Kaplan made his FSL debut in game two, and it was ok, at best. He gave up two runs on five hits and four walks in five innings. He fanned three. The 23-year old will be pitching against more hitters his own age in the FSL than in the SAL.
Zach Lutz (.239/.360/.407), who was 2-4 with a double in game two, played 1B in both halves of the double dip in place of .
