Brandon Knight is coming off a nine-inning complete game in his last start on June 14th as the Bisons try to make it three of four in Charlotte.
According to milb.com, Wily Mo Pena has been released.
As has Bobby Kielty.
Javier Valentin was also released.
I think this says more about Nick Evans than anything else. The Mets feel like they have a righty bat for 1B. Pena and Valentin probably didn’t show the ability to play the position well enough either. All those games that Valentin had to play 3B probably didn’t help his cause…
