I’m about to get on a Subway on my way out to Keyspan Park. Brad Holt is throwing in AA in Portland, ME (scoreboard). In slightly less interesting prospecty news, Ken Takahashi will make his first start for Buffalo.

Eric Beaulac struck out nine in five shutout innings for Savannah today in a 5-1 win. People are sleeping on Beaulac, but at age 22, he’s struck out 83 and walked 24 in 67.1 IP in Savannah. The ratios: 11.09 K/9, 3.21 BB/9. 3.46 K/BB. It’s time for him to head south to the FSL.

love the park, but taking that subway trip from queens blvd to coney is such a nightmare, hope for your sake you’re in brooklyn already
In reference to Beaulac, its great he put up those numbers, but I ask the same question I ask of many minor league pitchers: doesn’t he have to prove he can throw successfully in more than 5 innings to get on the radar as an impact prospect?
Beaulac definitely has potential. He was picked in the 9th round last year, so the Mets obviously saw something they liked too. Agree with ravin that I’d like to see him going deeper into games. Maybe he’s on a strict pitch count?
Nick Waechter is starting tonight for St. Lucie leaving Rustich on the sidelines for more than two weeks now. Is everything ok with him?
Hard to have much hope in the Mets FO when Nick Waechter and Eric Brown are making starts, and players like Rustich and Doyle are sitting out.
AA got postponed.. Excellent outing for Beaulac though, his K-rate has been great in A ball.. Ken Takahashi pitched 6 nice innings for AAA.. its too bad he cant translate his AAA success to the major league level (hes got like an ERA under 1 in AAA, lol)
