dont mean to bring this off topic, but adam rubin posted: "Highly regarded pitching prospect Dillon Gee did not have surgery on his labrum. He rehabbed, and is set to begin tossing on flat ground next week."

thats good news.. i thought he originally said that he did have surgery (or maybe it was some other website or blog).. anyway, yeah thats good news.

I realize I am likely just being stubborn and not giving up on a guy, but I do think because of his injuries, that he deserves the rest of this season and all of next before we move on.

I'm with you Ravin. With all the time he missed because of his back issues, I don't think we can really look at him as a 24 year old. Rather, I'd think of him as a 22 year old, who still needs some time to develop better plate discipline, which should lead to better and more powerful contact. Still have visions of him being like Rolen.

I would be a little more optimistic about Bowman. Watching him in Binghamton, I definitely saw the potential. He's been really hurt by injuries in his career and I still believe in his bat with more reps. This is a guy who I'd hope that in the case of a serious injury to DWright in 2010 or 2011 will be able to play 3B everyday for NY.
If he's able to stay healthy, I think Bowman can be a late bloomer in his mid-late 20s.
