Sunday Afternoon

By Toby Hyde on 23. Aug, 2009

So, Oliver Perez is making that $12 million look good, huh?  How about the $24 mil he’s   And on the day when Mike Puma in the Post publishes an exclusive that Fred Wilpon says Omar Minaya will be retained for 2010.

“Am I going to bring Omar back next year?” Wilpon said. “Absolutely. That’s a fact.”

Eric Niesen is on the hill in Binghamton.  Box

The 6 ER in 2/3 IP raised Perez’ ERA less than a run. It’s hard work being that bad…

Now Pedro getting called strikes that Perez wasn’t as he is looking worse than Perez… figures.

That’s both unbelievable and unsurprising. How sad is it when Bernie Madoff is the second worst investment you made in the last year? Well, Fred?

Nick Evans with a solo homer in the first, backing Adam Pettyjohn.

Hector Pellot with an RBI double early, backing Scott Shaw.

Kyle Allen and the Gnats take on the Rome Braves.

Big day for the Cyclones, they play a split double header in Aberdeen while the second place SI Yankees (4 GB) play two at HV Renegades.
Brandon Moore and Mark Cohoon will make the starts.

Kingsport also playing two, in Bristol.

Oddly nice performance by Pat Misch. 4 quick innings on no days rest.

A guy who is as rubber armed as that could find a place on a big league roster as a long man/second loogy.

Real nice work from Allen so far today, typically average outing by Shaw.

That bottom of the 7th for Moore is taking a long time to show up… oh, the suspense!
