Evans Hits first AFL HR

By Toby Hyde on 05. Nov, 2009

evans-mets-headshot.jpgWednesday, in a 10-5 win, LF Nick Evans hit his first AFL homerun.  He took a 97 mph fastball out to centerfield leading off the eighth inning.  It was Evans first HR since June 24th, in the Mets 11-0 victory over St. Louis when he took Brad Thompson deep.

Evans is 2-12 in the AFL with a double and a HR.  It would be nice to see him play at firstbase as well as LF.

SS Ruben Tejada was 0-4 and committed his fouth error of the young AFL season.  A three-game hitless streak has dropped his season line to .267/.320/.333 in 12 games.
