@ Buffalo Bisons 8, Pawtucket Red Sox 2
Knuckleballing RA Dickey threw 122 pitches for the complete game victory in the Bisons home opener.
For the second straight game RF Fernando Martinez was 2-4 with a double. In 29 AB, he’s struck out 7 times without walking once. It’s early and all, but that doesn’t seem like a big league approach.
DH Chris Carter was the offensive star, going 4-4 with a triple, two doubles and 4 RBI. (In unrelated news, in Denver, 1B Mike Jacobs was 1-3 to improve to 3-for-18 (.167/.286/.389) this year.)
Josh Thole took another 0-for, but did pick a runner off of first base.

geez, 27 strikeouts in 27 ABs really is horrible!
Martinez actually has 29 AB (30 PA), but your conclusion holds. He’s really gotta learn how to take a few walks or there’s not much point in swapping him in for Francoeur.
Carter > everyone in the Mets’ bench.
No way Frank Cattolanatto is a GOD, did you see that blast he sent to right in the top of the 9th last night, DAMN!!!
Any reason why Tejada isn’t batting lead off?
It’ll be fun to see how Ike and company fare against Diasuke Matsuzaka this afternoon.
Please free Chris Carter!
