Just in case you prefer video to things I’ve written today.
Lob City – Sports is Fun
Sports is supposed to be fun, right? Seems sometimes we lose track of that. Anyway, this video has reactions from Clippers players as they learn about the Chris Paul trade.
Blake Griffin’s reaction to the news: blurting out “Lob City,” his enthusiasm (an unrequited chest bump) is classic, and made me laugh. Also, it makes me look forward to an endless loop of yes, lobs from Chris Paul and ridiculous dunks from Griffin.
Sandy Alderson on Reyes. Paul DePodesta on Pitching
DePodesta begins addressing the Mets’ plan for developing their young pitchers and the team’s draft philosophy, beginning at the 2:45 mark if you want to hop right to the prospects section. I can’t imagine you’d want to do that since Alderson address some of the rumors around Reyes.
Lizard Tastes Better With Mountain Dew
No, it’s not as awesome as Albert Pujols, but it’s almost as tasty.
This is Padres pitching prospect Mike Mikolas doing his think in the Arizona Fall League. Mikolas had a nice run in double-A this year, with 27 strikeout against six walks in 32.1 innings, but you’ll remember him for this.
Video of Brandon Nimmo Talking and Hitting at Citi Field
As the Mets’ 2011 first round pick, it’s kind of a big deal whenever Nimmo does anything. He’s off to instructs in Fort Myers, FL and then a month or two at the Mets’ Dominican academy for the fall.
I think he has a realistic chance to break camp next spring with Savannah.
